Unlike other Tin Drums around Brighton and Hove, the non-smoking restaurant area is situated upstairs, while the bar, which also allows dining, is downstairs. Yet the decor adheres to the classic Tin Drum blueprint of mismatched tables, chairs and heaving bookshelves.
The set menu, which changes every few months, is made with locally-sourced ingredients and prepared fresh on the premises.
Typical dishes include the English breakfast (£6.25, served until 12.30pm) and bar food options such as the zakuski plate (£7.50). There’s also a range of desserts (all £4.50 except cheeses, for £5.50) and a children’s menu. But you can also drop in for a casual afternoon cuppa, or beers and cocktails in the evening.
