Gars has established a reputation for quality Chinese food.
It’s a low-lit, white-walled space with soft red paneling and food is just as sophisticated as the surroundings.
As well as popular Cantonese dishes, such as crispy aromatic duck served with pancakes and Singapore-fried noodles, Gars offers seasonal options including lobster. Set menus include the three-course monkfish option, £21.50; the three-course shellfish option, £24.50; and the four course Emperor’s Choice menu, £29.50.
The a la carte evening menu is extensive, with starters including deep-fried beancurd in salt and chilli, and mains including beef in black bean sauce.
