Forget the negative stereotypes that can surround vegetarian food – eating at Terre a Terre is a culinary experience of intense flavours and sublime textures, which will banish memories of bland vegetable bakes forever.
Established more than 14 years ago, Terre a Terre is now one of the most successful restaurants in the UK, winning second place for best veggie restaurant in this year’s Observer Food Monthly awards.
Currently on the menu is the interestingly-named Gets on my Goat – a vegan option of goat’s cheese crostini piled with onions and olive smash (£10.95 for the lighter lunchtime version and £13.40 as a main dinner course), and Poke Mole and Turtle soup – sweet potato fritters served with a poke chipotle gazpacho (£13.95).
Just as much thought goes into the wines, all of which are produced organically and some bio-dynamically.
Terre a Terre also serves afternoon tea and provides a takeaway service.
