JUST a short drive from Brighton, heading towards Henfield, Tottington Manor is a classy 16th-century establishment run by the folk previously responsible for Richard’s Brasserie in Hove.
Although they insist the basic idea behind Tottington is the same – “quality food at fair prices” – the manor’s menu represents a step up from Richard’s fare.
Starters include sautéed scallops with lemon and coriander sauce, and salad of confit duck with orange syrup and parsnip chips.
There are set meals for lunch and dinner but those who prefer to choose from the a la carte menu can select from mains such as pan-fried rib-eye steak on chorizo mash with red wine sauce or cod with tagliatelle and prawn cream sauce.
