Inspired by modern fusion cuisine, Sushi Garden offers Japanese food adapted to Western tastes.
If you’re new to Japanese food and don’t know your sushi from your sashimi, this is a great place to experiment. All the dishes are helpfully translated – and there are lots of dishes to choose from.
As well as numerous varieties of sushi, other offerings include udon noodles starting at £5.50, served with fishcakes or shrimp tempura and katsu (deep-fried fish, pork or chicken), and bibimbap – rice with egg, beef and vegetables (£5.60).
Sushi items include the Manchester hot roll (£9.70) and the cheesy dragon (£9.70, or £5.40 for half), or you can choose from set menus ranging in price from £30 to £36 for two people. There are also four varieties of bento (a lunch box filled with raw fish goodies), ranging from £8.50 to £10.50, and four Korean soup dishes from £9.50 per person.
For dessert, try a sweet and sticky rice cake with red beans, or green tea ice cream. A range of Japanese beers, Korean liquors, plum wine (ume) and warm Japanese rice wine (sake) are also available, alongside a variety of juices and smoothies.
