Widely regarded as one of the best Italian restaurants in Brighton, a visit to The Latin in the Lane is a bit like stepping into a villa in Naples.
With something in the region of 60 main courses, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to your meal. The a la carte menu relies heavily on the seasonal availability of fish and one of the highlights is the seafood platter for two, which comes piled high with freshly-caught shellfish.
There are also lots of fish-based pastas and risottos but if seafood does not suit your palate, there are numerous meat-based dishes, including veal (on the bone) £15.95, or escalope, £13.95); duck; liver; and even ostrich (£14.95).
You can also opt for a set menu of three courses for £19.50, four courses for £24.50, or five courses for £29.50.
If you have room for dessert, the trolley features delicious home-made delicacies from £4.50, such as tiramisu, profiteroles and crème caramel.
