Cited by actor Lee Ross as his favourite Thai restaurant in Brighton, Aumthong Thai is a large and spacious restaurant, dotted with authentic artefacts. Thai ladies, togged out in traditional dress, flutter from table to table and help create an authentic atmosphere.
Set menus start from £25.50, or £19 for the vegetarian option, and offer first-timers a good introduction to Thai cuisine. The starters are a real treat, with the likes of deep-fried crispy wonton with minced prawns and chicken, served with sweet and sour plum sauce. Popular main courses include Thai green curry and tofu.
Booking ahead is advised, as the restaurant gets busy at the weekends.
