NARIN THAI RESTAURANT

Meaning “the water of the river”, Narin overlooks the water’s edge and has panoramic views of the marina and the surrounding cliffs.

Owner Paul Nicholson says: “We always felt the first floor of Aqua, with its spacious environment and fantastic views of the marina, would make a perfect dining space.

“Luckily,” adds Nicholson, “Thai chef Chanuphol Ounmeesri had the experience to design and cook a wide-ranging and authentic Thai menu.”

Chanuphol (whose signature dish is Panang curry) worked in London Thai restaurants both as chef and manager before moving to Brighton in 1999, where he ran his own Thai kitchen at The Duke of Beaufort in Queens Park Road, Brighton.

There’s a common misconception that all Thai food is searingly spicy but this is not so at Narin, where the menu is wideranging and adapted to suit a variety of tastes. The approachable staff are also on hand to offer suggestions and the chefs are willing to modify any existing dish to suit individual tastes.

Manager Chavarin Suttasuntorn says, “Word of mouth from an ever-increasing clientele is becoming our greatest asset in attracting new customers. Large numbers of them come back time and time again, which is the best feedback we could have.”

As well as the usual menu, which includes starters from £4.50 and main courses from £6.95. There are three set menus starting from £15.50.
